Salesforce Google Drive integration
The Peeklogic team developed a Salesforce Google Drive integration app. It allows users to drop files through Lightning and Visualforce components into a Google Drive account and structure documents in folders.
Software Consulting Company
The Client requested that Peeklogic build an app on the Force platform and integrate it tightly with Google.
First, they needed their users to be able to drag and drop files from Lead, Account, Opportunity or any other Salesforce object. The file then had to appear in the related Google folder.
To do this, our team knew they had to develop a configuration page. This was so a user could set up objects for which they planned to use drag and drop to Google Drive.
Our Peeklogic Salesforce team would also have to develop Visualforce and Lightning components. These are for placement on any Standard or Custom Salesforce object. These custom components are for displaying the list of files related to a specific record.
Additionally, the Client wanted their users to be able to open a file in a separate tab, download a file or remove a file from their record.
Plus, when going to Google Drive, users needed to see a list of folders structured by Salesforce objects and related records. Thus, we needed to show the relationship between Salesforce objects in structured folders as well.
Finally, the Salesforce Google Drive integration app needed to be developed in Lightning and Classic, pass Security review, and be published to appexchange.
Google Drive Salesforce Integration Solution
The Peeklogic team developed a wonderful solution in our Google Drive Salesforce integration app.
Most importantly, it’s compatible with Lightning and Classic.
As a result, our Salesforce Google drive connector consists of the following components:
- Settings page
- Salesforce Google Drive Lightning component
- Classic Visualforce component
The settings page allows users to authorize to Google Drive what they would like to use with their CRM account. Also, users can select for which objects they would like to create folders in Google Drive.
Then, after a user completes setup, they will see a root folder in their Google Drive account. This root folder is the one under which all objects folders are placed.
Users can now start using the Salesforce Google Drive document automation app and enjoy dragging and dropping into their Google Drive from any Salesforce object. This ability is thanks to the Lightning component our team developed.
Users can also drag and drop files to any object. Then they can also click to review, download or remove documents. Again, this is done with the help of our Lightning component.
After a user drops a file from the Salesforce object Lightning component, they can see them almost instantly in their Google Drive folder. Plus, our Salesforce Google Drive plugin supports all file types.
