Two-Way Sync Between Salesforce Case Comments and Jira Issue Comments

Below steps describe how to configure two way synchronization between Jira Issue Comments and Salesforce Cases Comments

1. Create Connected App using link from Salesforce Classic as a callback host url and select OAuth Scopes as per screenshot below

2. Create Auth Provider using Consumer Key and Consumer Secret from the Connected App We just created

Authorize Endpoint URLhttps://test.salesforce.com/services/oauth2/authorize
Token Endpoint URLhttps://test.salesforce.com/services/oauth2/token
Default Scopesrefresh_token full

3. Create Named Credentials using URL from Salesforce classic and Authenticate to Salesforce when Saving

4. Open Cases record and Click Edit Page in top right menu to access Salesforce App Builder. Add JiraCaseComments lightning component to page layout

  • Make sure “Enable Comments Sync” Checkbox is checked on a right side bar
  • Select Salesforce Named Credentials we created in previous step on the right side bar
  • Enter number of comments you’d like to be visible at a component

5. Two way sync between Salesforce Case Comments and Jira Issue Comments configuration is complete.

Now you can create Comments within our custom component, and comments will be created the same time in Jira. In addition – if your support team create comments in Jira – you’ll be able to see them in our custom component, and they will be creates in Salesforce standard Comments object. Two way sync between Salesforce Case Comments and Jira Issue Comments configuration is complete

6. Now we can hide Standard Salesforce Comments component and use the custom one, which does the same as standard + has two way integration implemented with Jira Issue Comments
